Age Considerations Age limits are meant to be a guideline. Exceptions are made for campers who function at a different level than their age would suggest. Cabinmate Requests We will seek to honour cabinmate requests as follows: campers must be eligible to be in the same camp event, ages typically are not more than 12 months apart, and the request must be made by both people and it must be made at least two weeks before camp. Note that this is optional and that many campers do not make requests. We seek to honour your requests, and to place similar age groups together. Please call 506.463.2267 if you have any questions. Back to list. About Our Activities Whether an expert or beginner, there's something for you! Our qualified staff will encourage you and ensure your safety. There are over 30 activity options to choose from (click here to view The Small List Of Activities), and all *equipment and safety gear is provided. Please note that for the safety of our guests, all campers must pass a swim test to swim in the deep end of the swimming pool. Campers who do not pass the swim test will have to stay in the shallow end while swimming at the pool. All campers are required to wear a PFD (personal floatation device) while taking part in activities at the waterfront. *Campers who wish to sign-up for our Mountain Biking activity are permitted to bring their own mountain bike, or they can use a camp mountain bike. A camper who is presently using a bike with a frame smaller than 16" must bring their own bike. Should you require a bike, GHLC has 16" & 18" bikes. All campers are required to bring their own biking helmet and water bottle. The Mountain Biking activity is not available to campers under 10 years of age. Each of your regular camp weeks has it’s own name — are the activities offered different from one week to the next? Giving each camp event it’s own name adds to the fun atmosphere at camp and helps us differentiate one week from the next. Nearly all activities are available each week (at an age appropriate level) — the exceptions would include mountain biking, and rock climbing which are not available for children under 10 years of age. From wikipedia: "A weblog, Web log or simply a blog, is a web application which contains periodic posts on a common webpage. These posts are often but not necessarily in reverse chronological order. Such a Web site would typically be accessible to any Internet user. The term "blog" came into common use as a way of avoiding confusion with the term server log. "Blogs run from individual diaries to arms of political campaigns, media programs and corporations, and from one occasional author to having large communities of writers. Some are maintained by single authors, while others have multiple authors. Many weblogs enable visitors to leave public comments, which can lead to a community of readers centered around the blog; others are non-interactive. The totality of weblogs or blog-related websites is usually called the blogosphere. "The format of weblogs varies, from simple bullet lists of hyperlinks, to article summaries with user-provided comments and ratings. Individual weblog entries are almost always date and time-stamped, with the newest post at the top of the page. Because links are so important to weblogs, most blogs have a way of archiving older entries and generating a static address for individual entries; this static link is referred to as a permalink. The latest headlines, with hyperlinks and summaries, are offered in weblogs in the RSS or Atom XML-format, to be read with a feed reader." How often is the blog updated? We try to update the blog as often as possible. There may be some weeks with many entries and other weeks with few or even no entries. Who writes in the blog? Over time, you'll see posts by quite a few of the staff members here at Green Hill Lake. Can I comment on the blog? For the time being, we have decided to not allow comments. Feel free to contact us and share any thoughts or comments that you might have. RSS 2.0 What is RSS? RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a way of allowing people to "subscribe" to a site's content (such as GHLC.BLOG), so you can know when the site has been updated. A program known as an RSS aggregator or feed reader can check RSS-enabled webpages on behalf of a user and display any updated articles that it finds. RSS saves users from having to repeatedly visit favorite websites to check for new content. You can read an RSS feed a number of ways, through an extension in your web browser, a standalone program, or a web-based reader. Back to list. |
